As the son of a photographer, I grew up clicking shutters and rotating flash cubes. I learned at a young age how to develop film in the basement darkroom that my mother built. I naturally preferred Black & White Photography as a child—I still do. However, I practice and appreciate all types of photography.
I gravitate towards deep thinking and writing, and chose to pursue a BA degree in Philosophy and French. I was able to take some advanced photography courses at university, but discovered after obtaining a degree that my heart was fully and unmistakably situated in the fine arts - particularly in photography.
After becoming a Wildland Firefighter in my twenties, I became dedicated to the project of documenting my firefighting work. I photograph landscapes in the West and have an interest in photojournalistic projects concerning rural American life. I have also produced commercial and lifestyle content for clients. I like to explore inspiring, emotionally moving, visually impactful projects, no matter the specific subject matter.
